No I In Threesome

[audio:02 No I In Threesome 1.mp3]

So the week from hell is over. I do not think I’ve ever had a more intense mid-term! I must say I’m pretty pleased with myself though. I tend to kinda fumble big test situations, and my only saving grace is my tenacity on multiple but minor things, like homework. Not this week. I prepped as best I could, and I think it went alright. That’s not to say for sure that I did awesome, but I certainly felt a lot better about this week’s exams than I have in a long time.

As mentioned previously, I had to say at Truman for mid-term break in order to make some real progress on my exams I had to take home. Almost everyone else was gone though… campus was virtually deserted. Ian and I capitalized on this situation, and did all the crazy things that we never could do when other people were here:

Like buy Fable from WalMart (Ian had been lusting after it for many weeks, and there was only a single copy left, so we got it), and play it excessively. Or rather, Ian played it a lot, I watched and made quippy comments when I saw fit:

Dude. That barmaid is hot. Use the ‘flirt’ command. Seriously. Do it. *pause* Awwwwwwwwwww yeah! You dog!

Fable is like “The Sims” meets “Final Fantasy”. You can go around and have all these quasi-realistic interactions with people, but then you also go on quests and just kill stuff. It’s neat.

We also left our door open a lot… despite the fact that there was no one around. And hung out in the lounge. We basically acted like we owned the building, which was fun. One night some dude gave us the rest of his boneless buffalo wings. It was random, but quite delicious. Another night we had Zach over and played “Settlers of Catan”. That game is like Sim City meets C-Span. Sim City in that you’re trying to build a little collection of interconnected towns. C-Span in that it takes forever.

[By the way, Ethan says I uses italics too much. I don’t think I do. They imply emphasis, which I think is important in writing. In other words: Shut the hell up, Struby.]

While we played Settlers, we also watched Mission: Impossible 3, which I got from WalMart (during the fabled Fable run) for less than 4 dollars. I thought it was worth it to see Tom Cruise get smashed into that car whenever I feel like it:

(It happens in the last like… 10 seconds of that video, but it’s my favorite part of the entire movie probably.)

Also, while we’re talking about videos I like on YouTube:This just makes me laugh really hard because it’s a whole lot of nerd-pop-culture crammed into one video.

Anyways, I think that about sums up the past few days.
We had such a good time that it’s a little tempting to stick around during breaks more often.

EDIT: Also, anyone send me mail? You were 17 cents short on postage, and but the time I could make it to the post office, they’d returned the letter. So send it again? Please? Thanks.

1.19.2008 EDIT:
I closed comments becuase this entry, undoubtedly due to the title, was getting spammed like crazy.
Sorry!

  1. tom: did you get something from me awhile back? I sent you something, but i jammed a bunch of shit into it and I don’t know if it was enough postage.

also, i have your birthday present. You’ll be in town this weekend, right?

  2. Ethan

You must’ve been the postage bandit then. They sent you your letter back, or so they told me.
I will be in town this weekend. Lizz will be upset that I’m getting a present on her birthday, but she can deal with it.

  3. so i was watching hgtv’s “house hunters” last night, and there was a newlywed couple looking for a house. they wanted something with a finished basement so the husband could have a playroom. full of legos and action figures. it reminded me of you, so i thought i’d just let you know that you are not alone.
